April 24th 2015 marks the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
On this day in 1915, the Ottoman Empire began its plans to exterminate all Armenians. The motive? Armenians were seen as a thorn in the side of the Ottoman regime's plan for a pan-Muslim/ Turkic state. They were Christians; they wanted increasing autonomy over their rulers; they had their own language and their own culture; they had settled on the lands of Anatolia for centuries. How could the Empire achieve their dream with such 'vermin' in their midsts? On this premise, the Ottoman Empire began their unspeakable plan to wipe all Armenians off the face of the planet. Men, women and children; no one was spared. 1.5 million perished.

In the face of continued denial from Turkey and silence from it's political allies, which prefer political favours over justice, Armenians across the world organise yearly marches and vigils in order to raise awareness for this genocide, as well as others. They march for justice; they march for recognition; they march for peace.

This year was no different. London organised its own march that took place on 18th April. Thousands attended.

Systematic, Unholy, Inhumane, Unjust, Cowardly -- a few words that can only begin to rightly describe the horrific crime of the Armenian Genocide. The facts are present: the history has been written and no matter how tedious the denial is, we, the children of Armenia, owe it to the lost souls of our ancestors to fight for spiritual closure.

April 24th 2011 marked the 96th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in which Armenians across the globe were united in their battle for deeper recognition of the crimes committed by Turkey in 1915.  A genocide that is still not yet accepted by it's perpetrators.

This short documentary is dedicated to all those whom lost their lives in 1915 and likewise the Armenian community -- who have shown courage, strength and commitment through any means necessary during these hard years of denial and injustice.
